HISTORY

The Bayfield cruiser line of sailboats were developed in
the early 1970’s at the Bayfield Boat Yard, Clinton, Ontario.
The company produces model line of 25 ,29,32, and 40ft
boats all with the same distinctive traditional appearance.
Boat designer Ted Gozzard gave the Bayfield line of boats a
L.Francis Herreshoff flavor.

Silver Lining was custom built in 1984-1985 for a young
Houston Texas owner. He lived aboard the boat for 8 years
and sailed it extensively throughout the Gulf of Mexico, the
Bahamas, and the Atlantic Coast areas. He settled in Orlando
Fl. with a wife and business and I acquired the boat in May
1998 from a very reluctant owner. We sailed the boat from
its storage area in Ft Lauderdale Fl. to Sarasota by way
of the Fl. Keys in April 1998.
